Transforming the New Zealand Sport Horse

Established by Sharleen Workman, the dream was to bring European bloodlines into New Zealand and cross them with some of our best performing mares, creating International sport horses, that will thrive in the New Zealand conditions.

The result has been world class, elite progeny that are having great success at the top level of competition across the equestrian disciplines Nationally and Internationally.

Built over the last decade, our operation has grown to approximately 100 horses and is now one of New Zealand largest sport horse breeding facilities, with a reputation that has made Xtreme Sport Horses the first point of call for buying elite young horses.

The dream became that little bit closer after purchasing some of Europes best bloodlines through Corofino II and Cassiano, who would become Xtreme's first resident stallions.

These 2 incredible stallions have had an outstanding impact on the quality of New Zealand's Sport Horses through Sharleen's breeding program and through outside breeders who have taken the opportunity to utilise the stallions. This impact can be seen today in the competition ring where their progeny are consistently seen in the winner’s circle across the equestrian disciplines.

The addition to the stud of the 2 home-bred stallions, Numero Uno Xtreme and Zirrock Xtreme has further transformed and heightened the quality of progeny being produced in the most recent years.

Now with progeny on the ground that are a double, triple, or quad cross with our 4 stallions (Corofino II and Cassiano now frozen semen) we are excited to see these horses add to the already impressive stamp Xtreme Sport Horses has on NZ equestrian sport.

We have established a clear vision to breed and produce exceptional show jumping horses and high performance eventers, and have successfully developed a finely tuned system for producing these ultimate athletes.

Our passion for horses is the driving force behind our meticulous care and management, and we are constantly innovating to improve our breeding program and maintain our reputation as industry leaders.

By prioritising expert management and specialised attention to nutrition, health, handling and training, we have consistently created the finest quality horses available in this market.

Our purposely designed process involves starting our horses with one of New Zealand's top horse trainers before passing them on to our team of skilled home rider.Through our expert training approach, we systematically hone our horses abilities until they are fully prepared for sale and are ready to embark on a successful career with their new riders.
