COROFINO II
New Zealand's own Super Sire
Direct from the Holsteiner Verband, Germany
Corofino II is a licensed Holsteiner stallion and champion World Cup Jumper from an internationally successful family, sired by the legendary Corrado I.
Licensed in 1998, Corofino II completed his 30 day stallion test, resulting in impressive scores: 10 for character, 9 for temperament and 10 for Jumping.
Classified by the Hanoverian Society, Corofino II was awarded a 10 for his jump and 10 for his canter.
" A standout for his scope and carefulness, Corofino II has a remarkable technique, both front and behind"
Corofino II has had an incredible influence on equestrian sport, shaping the Show Jumping we have in New Zealand today. The impact Corofino II has had on New Zealand's sport horses can only be described as remarkable, with his progeny found in the winner's circle across the disciplines.
"Corofino II jumped more than 90% clear rounds from 1.45m - 1.60m"
As a 5yo, Corofino II qualified for Bundesschampionat (German Young Horse Championship). He won one of the qualifying rounds for the final, with a final score of 9.
Following his success, he continued his competition career with Thomas Konle, achieving over 125 wins and placings up to 1.60m.
He returned to Holstein in early 2009 and was campaigned by Janne Freiderike Meyer. The combination had incredible success, including 3rd in the Tasdorf Grand Prix, 2nd in Balve (German Championships) and winning the Breitenburg Grand Prix (against a competitive field including Beijing silver medalist Rolf-Goran Bengtsson on his olympic mount Ninja).
Corofino II was imported into New Zealand in 2009, following a successful competition/breeding career in Europe. Once in New Zealand, he continued his superb form competing at World Cup Level with Katie Laurie (McVean).
After a successful International career, Corofino II enjoyed his well deserved retirement, standing at stud with us at Xtreme Sport Horses.
